  In a new twist to the 2G spectrum ‘scam’, the 17 accused in the case were acquitted of all charges by a special CBI court in New Delhi on Thursday, 21 December. “I have absolutely no hesitation in holding that prosecution has miserably failed to prove any charge against any accused,” said CBI Judge OP Saini, acquitting former telecom minister A Raja, Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and 15 other accused.

iPhone 14 launch delayed due to China lockdown: Report

  Apple  is expected to launch its  iPhone 14  series at an upcoming event in September. But now as per a new report, the launch event may be delayed. As per report by Nikkei Asia, the company has asked the iPhone 14 series suppliers in China to speed up development, so that the launch event can take place as per schedule. Foxconn and Pegatron are reportedly the two major suppliers for the upcoming iPhone lineup. Additioanlly, Luxshare Precision is also said to have bagged some orders to supply two of the four iPhone 14 series models. As per the report, manufacturers are being negatively affected by the delay in the re-opening of factories in China, especially in and around Shanghai, due to Covid lockdowns. BMW i4 Electric Sedan Launched In India, Priced At ₹ 69.90 Lakh

  The BMW i4 electric sedan today officially went on sale in India at an introductory price of ₹ 69.90 lakh for its one fully loaded variant – i4 eDrive40. It is the third electric vehicle from BMW Group India, which launched the iX electric SUV in December 2021, and the MINI Electric in March 2022. With the launch of the BMW i4, the company now has one of the widest line-ups of electric cars in the luxury vehicle space.   New Delhi, Patna: Weeks after he was granted bail in a fodder scam case, Lalu Prasad Yadav has been charged in a fresh corruption case over alleged irregularities in recruitment between 2004 and 2009 when he was Railway Minister. Besides Mr Yadav, his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti and other family members have been named accused in the new case, sources said. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today started searches at 15 locations linked to the Rashtriya Janata Dal patriarch, including his residences. In the new case, the CBI has alleged that Mr Yadav and his family members received land and properties as bribe for giving out railway jobs. The 73-year-old veteran leader walked out of jail last month after the Jharkhand High Court granted him bail in the ₹ 139 crore Doranda Treasury scam case. Dubai Police bust international crime syndicate for smuggling cocaine in sugar

  In an international sting operation, the Dubai Police and law enforcement agencies of France, Spain, and Colombia recently dismantled a transnational organised crime syndicate involved in trafficking and smuggling cocaine in shipments of sugar from South America to Europe. Code-named ‘Canne à Sucre’, the operation took place on May 5 when the Dubai Police arrested a key member of the criminal syndicate in a synchronised series of raids in France, Spain, and Colombia. The bust resulted in arresting 18 criminals and the seizure of 22 tons of sugar contaminated with cocaine smuggled from Colombia through the Port of Le Havre in France. Pakistan: One killed, 13 injured in Karachi bombing
